The Lothian is probably home of the oldest established golf in Scotland, a vastly popular area golfing area that should not be missed while in Scotland. The Royal Musselburgh Golf Club starts off the famous stretch of golfing along the East Lothian coast. This it the fifth oldest course in the world and has been offering unique golfing challenges since 1774. The Old Cup Club trophy is still hotly contested and has been since 1774. A must for any avid golfer.

The Lothianburn Golf Club sits at the foot of Pentland Hills and is a mile south of Edinburgh. The excellent condition and speed of the greens keeps its reputation high and the challenges keep it talked about amongst players. Course elements are mixed between parkland and moorland and it is a hilly track, the highest point being 900 feet above sea level.

The West Linton Course is on the Slipperfield Moorland and is a very fine course, one of the finest in the area. There have been many top golfing professionals play this course including Sandy Lyle who is an honorary club member.
